Can a person fired for a dirty UA draw unemployment?

Was eligible for UE benefits, but took a job offer. Was hired and then after a month of employment was required to take a UA. Was released from the job. Am I still eligible to draw my unemployment benefits?

Update:

Was not fired and did not quit the first job. Was laid off. Took a couple hits off a pipe after I got laid off and didn't think I was going to get another job offer.

    uh...Quit the first job. Nope

Fired for cause from the 2nd job. Nope

    That a big NO.

File anyway. Who knows. Just don't spend a cent till the appeal process is all thru, if you do get it.

By UA I am assuming you mean Urine Analysis? If you were let go from the second job through no fault of your own I would say you are still eligible for benefits. If you failed the UA and were released from your job due to that then you are not eligible. You can only get UNemployment if you were fired through no fault of your own. A dirty UA is cause for denial of benefits. Apply because the worse that can happen is they deny you benefits. They will contact both former employers and find the reason you were let go. You can appeal but if you had failed drug test highly unlikely you will win. sorry!

Which states deny benefits for having a dirty UA on the job?

No- doubt it. that probably was something addressed in your original hiring. No dirty UAs its cause for termination.

I don't think you worked for the company long enough to qualify.
