I am going to cancun and would like to go to eat at a local restaurant?

In order to find the kind of place you're looking for, you will have to leave the hotel zone and go into Cancun Centro. One place that is especially popular with locals is not exactly a "hole in the wall" but it serves wonderful tamales of every variety. The name is "Tamales Flor de Lis" and the address is:

The best way to go there would be to take the bus into town, then catch a taxi to the restaurant. If you don't want to go to that trouble, just get off the bus in town and walk until you see a place with lots of people eating there. Keep in mind that meals are taken later here... lunch can be as late as 2 or so, and dinner at 9 or after. If you go in the mornings, try to find a busy place serving cochinita pibil tacos or tortas. It's delicious!

The Cancun resort area has its own separate water system for a very good reason. Leave that area to eat "locally", and the odds are you'll be very, very sorry.

when we went i remember we ate at some little place next to the flea market.(its a really popular place-most ppl know what ur talking about) idk if it is one of these but heres some ideas of places.
