    The worst TEAM? 2008 Lions.

The worst FRANCHISE? Probably the 'Aints.

Their history began in 1967. They did not achieve a record of .500 or better until 1979. They did not make their first playoff game until 1987. They did not win their first playoff game until 2000. They have NEVER had a Superbowl appearance, the farthest they've ever gone is the 2006 NFC Championship, which they lost. Not many teams have such a history. The ones that do are very young teams that have barely gotten started.

I totally buy the opinion that the Lions are the worst franchise. They've done about as well as the Saints during the Superbowl era. However, they do have 4 NFL Championships under there belt, granted they were a long time ago.

1989 Cowboys were the worst team I saw. 1-15. This years Lions were in some games and would have beaten that Cowboys team easily. There isnt much space between a team that wins 1 game to 0 games. These are the stat leaders are RB, WR, and QB

Paul Palmer had 446 yards and 2 tds

Aikman threw 9 tds and had 1749 passing yards

Kelvin Martin the WR had 644 yards and 2 tds.

The Lions were MUCH better this year then that

This years Lions have to be given a lot of consideration based on the only 0-16 record ever. I think the Bucs may have been even worse though in their 0-14 season, at least the Lions had a few close games and they should have beaten the Vikings if it weren't for a bogus pass interferance call on Bodden late in the game that set up a winning FG for the Vikings.

you will no longer be able to label a team that had Barry Sanders between the worst in the NFL background, quite as a results of fact Sanders many times positioned them in the playoffs for the time of the 90s. additionally they gained numerous outdated-NFL championships. The worst ever are the Cardinals, the Falcons and Bucs (inspite of a great Bowl, 20 dropping seasons out of 32 positioned any team between the worst). The Texans have not been around long adequate to label them between the worst.

It's tough for me to say it (as I'm a lions fan) but obviously this year's Lions are definitely the worst team in history. 0-16. You can't get any worse than that. And as for all the people that say that Lion's fans have abandoned their team. You're wrong 'cause I believe the Lions will be back! Well, I hope. I still have faith, at least we can't get any worse.....................

It HAS to be the Detriot Lions and I think even their fans would agree with this: the only good thing to happen to the Lion was Barry Sanders who ended up retiring with 4-5 great season still to go for him. They've never been a good team and under their current owner never will be
