Brits and others, what do you think of Obama, our new President? ?
Do you think he'll have a positive impact that may even spread abroad, or does it matter who's President to you at all over here?

I think that you have a good man there who is taking office at a very difficult time in world economics. If he pulls America back on it,s feet he will be seen as a great man.The man has a brain and knows how to use it, so i think that as long as his party doesn't control him to to the point of negating his innovative measures we will see improvements in not only the American Economy but also the world economies. With foreign policy he has big problems also. Afghanistan is impossible to control because of it,s geographic nature and Iraq because of it,s numerous religious factions. The English had terrible trouble controlling the Welsh and Scottish people for hundreds of years due to the difficult terrain.Obama,s best option would be to pull out of these countries and try to leave some political structure in place that can progress through time, for time it will take ,when Afghan,s are governed by Afghans and Iraq by Iraqis .He needs to focus his attention on his domestic policy for that will devour all his time and energy

The entire world has faced at least some negative impact from bush's terrorish rampage I think that if they don't care it still effects them we are all connected on this planet. Of course it doesn't matter if they do anyways. How many Americans no matter what they thought of bush were still helpless in changing what has happened, the people of other countries probably have less power to change our governments direction as we do.
bush damaged so many people across the entire world and Obama was the best choice to saving us but it will be some time till we can correct what bush has done.

I don't know if I count, since I'm a Canadian citizen living in the U.S., but I think he's a slick conman who will say and do whatever it takes to achieve his objectives.
Whether that's a good thing or bad thing depends on how much you like his objectives, really. If he continues on his current path (i.e. the stuff he's said and done since the election, which at times is in polar opposition to the insane promises he made during the campaign), he turn out to be pretty great.
But yeah, most non-Americans don't care. I only care since I live here now.
