Would mixing Ketchup and V8 be a good substitute for Pizza Sauce (used for dipping)?

Not sure what you would be 'dipping' in pizza sauce! Bread-sticks??? Or use it as a semi-salsa dip? Or, dipping the pizza into pizza sauce???

I CAN think of a (maybe) better MIX... but YOU will have to 'play' with the proportions... I think the ketchup would serve to THICKEN the V-8... but you would probably have to ADD some spices to compensate for the dilution caused by the ketchup!

I would suggest tomato PASTE... a more neutral 'taste', but definitely would 'thicken' the V-8! Again... compensate for, or ADD TO the FLAVOR you seek by adding the appropriate spices!!!

If it helps, I use a basic mixture of Ketchup and Horseradish for a dipping-sauce for shrimp! I DO change it a little, depending on whether I'm using it for shrimp-cocktail, or for deep-fried shrimp!

    Hope this helps!
