To arabic speaker / linguists regarding greeting?

I've read from a forum that you can't greet Muslims with Assalamualikum since Assalam is one of Allah's name. (Al-Hashr: 23).

My question is:

What is the difference between Assalam in assalamualikum and in surah Al-Hashr: 23?

    Assalam in Assalamualaikom means "peace".

    However Assalam as in one of the names of Allah, it means "The Peaceful"

    Salam.

    assalam in assalaum alaikon means : Peace//// peace be upon you

    peace is the meaning of salam.
