Norton Dominator valve springs?
I am rebuilding my spare Domi 88 Engine and bought a box of new Terry valve springs which have an uncompressed length of 42mm. The old springs are 52mm long. The new springs are ref 451.720 marked for 88 & special, Atlas & Commando 500/650/750cc 1962. My engine number is k63286 k122 with a cast iron cylinder head number T2212. As I cannot find any detailed information on the web, are there any Norton experts out there who may know if the new springs are suitable? Your expertise gratefully received.

I don't know about your Norton springs, but most valve springs are rated by so many pounds resistance when the spring is compressed to a given height. Even though the old springs are taller when not compressed, when compressed to an equal height with the new ones, the resistance may be the same, or higher if that's what they are supposed to be.
