What is the best dining-out experience you've ever had?

And was it the ambience, the company or just plain old right down to the fabulous FOOD?

Update:

L.B now that is what I call a DINING EXPERIENCE, that...while it's not all about the food, it's something you do not forget!

The Conch House in St. Augistine, Fl. the food was excellent, and the ambience was genious. you sit on a table that is anchored to a pole (like a telephone pole) that is 10 feet out over the ocean! it was awsome! you get a view of this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/leeburdett/2689808155... and this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/leeburdett/2689803675... . its near a marina and those are pics i took!

It was the best and also the worst.I was holidaying in Barbados and went to The Sandy Lane hotel for a Starlight buffet.Everybody was dressed to kill even though the balmy night air brought sweat to my furrowed brow,The first course was so sumptuous and being greedy i tried most things,my wife was enjoying the cabaret dancing and went to get her main course but i remained sitting because there was a nasty pain erupting in my stomach .Eventually i rose and made my way out from the hotel and was asked by the outside gate man "why are you leaving so soon Sir" i failed to reply and dived into the bushes where i was violently sick and my stomach hasn't been right to this day even though it was a long time ago

I was taken out to dinner at a posh restaurant and for the first, and only time in my life, I had a whole crayfish to eat myself, and a 'doggie bag' to take home what I couldn't eat.

It was not just the food, but the people I was with, the restaurant, the service and a few wines.

well i guess my father and i really liked our dining experience at a resturant that i cant remember the name of on the Wenceslas square in prague, Czech. it was fun because there was this big basement area with all these like candellabras and german scenery. best beer in the world served on tap. pilsner urquell. the food was good, the ambiance was better.

I was vacationing with my now "wife" and proposed to her at Tom Hom's Lighthouse in San Diego. The view was fantastic and the food was so good. I think it is why she said yes.

Many years ago. They had a seafood pasta that was great.
