Very difficult situation.I have seen it 3 times in my family.Firstly my sister in law and her husband divorced and for a while she came to live with us.Her son was so traumatized that he pushed my daughter down the stairs and when his mother re-married he never fully accepted his step father even though he was a good man.The same thing happened to my daughters marriage and my grandson who,s a lovely boy spends his time wondering where his home is.Finally my partner who,s a lot younger than me came from a broken marriage and even though her step father is a good man she never accepted him as her father and it has caused her many problems in life.So to answer the question no matter what you do if the child has something in his head about the initial marriage break down you will never fully get through to their heart no matter how hard you try,The child holds the ace card
