Is it possible to downgrade from Vista to XP? Vista is giving me a lot of problems.?
Am not much of a computer wizard, but I do know a little.
Ever since my cousin installed Vista in our PC, well, it has been giving us problems. The Pc is slower, it hangs and well, just really annoying. We did use an original copy. Now we want to go back to XP. Is it possible? Or do we have to reformat completely?
Please tell us what to do. Thanks!

Instead of downgrading, I would look instead into getting additional memory for your PC.
I bought a Dell PC over a year ago with Vista already on it, and yet the machine only had HALF the memory a PC needs to run Vista. As a result, it was rather slow (especially with loading up and closing down). I literally doubled my machine's memory and those slowness issues went away completely.
But if you ultimately do downgrade, though, a clean format wipe and installation of XP is probably the easiest way to do it...

i am suggesting you to do format totally don't downgrade it because it may be cause problem in later time so make sure you start from stretch or if you got two partition you can install xp on other partition and it would run as normal when you start your computer you need to select either of operating system to run.
Thanks

From what I've read in tech forums, its very difficult and not worth downgrading. You should probably just back up whatever files you want to keep, and wipe the drive and freshly install xp.

I don't think you can downgrade. However, there's nothing stopping you from formatting the drive, and then doing a clean install of XP.
Be sure to backup any data (documents, photos, etc.) from your drive first.
Boot from XP, and have it format your hard drive. Then just install as normal. Be sure to go to Microsoft.com and apply every single fix, update, and security patch first.

To downgrade to XP you will either have to do a clean install or, create another partition on your hard drive.

yes and many people are doing it. You have to backup everything and do a clean install. It is worth it. Your computer will run cleaner and you will have less trouble with it.
