Hasn't he earned the starting job yet?!?

Shaun Hill of the 49ers that is. He always gets the job late in the season, when it is too late to turn it around. Most peple just write it off as he is just getting some minutes on a screwed team. But if you look at his stats he does well in the starts he gets. I'm not saying that he is gonna be as good as Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, but he is giving them quality minutes.

Doesn't he deserve the job?

yes I live in San Francisco and have watch a lot of 9er games, he definitely deserves this job, ever since Steve Young he is the only the QB on the 49ers to have a winning record. He played awesome in the 2007 and 2008 season. Mike Singletary is an amazing coach, and for him to start shaun hill in the middle of the season, and go 5-4 is pretty impressive. SHAUN HILL DESERVES TO BE STARTING QB FOR THE SF 49ERS.

I don't know, I mean he's played alright, but nothing spectacular.

For anyone who thinks they'll take Sanchez, you better hope they dont. First of all, I don't even think Stafford is going to be a good QB and he's the best in the draft. The NFL has a long history of underclass QBs entering the draft and failing. While Stafford may turn into Ryan Leaf, Sanchez has even less of an upside. He only played one season in college. He has little experience and really isn't much of a solution. He may be worth a late 1st round pick, like the Jets at 17, but even that's not a smart move unless they also pick up a free agent QB like Garcia since there's no way Sanchez can step in and even be better than what they have now.

If I'm the 49ers, I look into maybe getting Vick, getting Garcia back, or someone who can actually play well and help win games.

I think so, simply because the other quarterbacks for the 49ers suck. Mike Singletary said in an interview that he wants competition for the starting job. Also don't expect a great year from shaun hill because starting wide reciever isaac bruce is retiring and their probably going to spend their draft picks on defense because Mike Singletary believes in defense first.

OMG YES. i am huge 49ers fan, and of course he does....idk why scot mccloughan thinks we need an upgrade...he passed for 2k yards, and had a passer ratin of 88 in only 8.5 games...he has gone 7-5 as a starter, and that is good enought to get into the playoffs and do some damage in the league. he may not be a pretty passer, but he gets the job done very effectively. The 49ers should give hime a well deerved year to himself and he will tkae them to a NFC west championship

Nope Hill does not have the starting job.....yet. The 49ers could possibly draft a quaterback or they might sign Mike Vick.

There looking more for a long term situation than a short term one. Shaun Hill might be the best option for now but not for the future.

he should without a doubt get the first crack at it but most likely they will probably draft someone and he still has alex smith to compete with if they don't draft a quarterback early expect the raiders and the 49ers to be interested in mike vick

No i don't think so, they sure have a lot to gamble though if they let pass Mark Sanchez in the draft and draft somebody else.

They have a serious QB problem, its very likely that they will draft Sanchez so in reality no he doesn't have his position secured yet.
