When Bush decided to refund the excess taxes,?
how come the Liberals, who were all set to spend it suddenly began complaining that there was no money to refund?
I seriously want to know how there can be money to spend on Pork, but when the President wants to give some of it back to the people, it suddenly doesn't exist.
I see my question has drawn the ire of the left, but not one of them will address it with any sort of answer.
Congress itself admitted that they had overcollected on income taxes and had plans on how to spend it. Bush nixed those plans and decided to give some of it back to the people, at which point, the excess seemed to disappear. NOw, how about an honest answer, not just another partisan diatribe?

I am completely lost on that too. You know the government has A LOT of money to spend that the public never knows about.

what excess taxes? which President? Bush?
Clinton's "budget surplus" is HALF the lie that any "excess taxes" ever was...
Obama's bill will save many jobs... I know you have to call it pork, no matter if it saved everyone in your families job or not...
simple fact is... that money goes to programs... those programs employ people... many of these programs were being cut on a state level... jobs saved... it's not rocket science...
and we need some jobs saved right now...
priorities change when the economy is going down the toilet...

Do you mean the budget surplus in 2001? Clinton left Bush a $230 BILLION DOLLAR surplus, and Bush turned it into a $300 BILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT in the FIRST YEAR.
That money under Clinton went to PAYING DOWN THE DEBT that was built up under Reagan. That's not 'excess taxes'....that's called PAYING YOUR DEBTS, something Republicans just cannot seem to comprehend. They feel that we can live on credit cards, and it's these policies which have crippled our nation into this economic collapse.

A more pertinent question is: Why were "conservatives" OK when Bush sent cash DIRECTLY to US citizens last year, but call Obama a socialist when he uses the money to fund programs?

Yep. We have a 10 trillion dollar deficit and spare taxes laying around.
Is it any wonder the Republicans lost?
