New to Wii, difference between guns?
I just bought the Wii and would like to know if there is a gun that will work with all shooter games or do you have to a the corresponding gun for each game. Is the light gun better than the zapper, or what gun is best overall. Thanks to all!

The only difference between the guns is the Sureshot is a pistol while the Zapper is more like a saw-off shotgun.
The Sureshot and Zapper are just plastic that holds the Wii-mote with/without nunchuck.
You don't even need to get the light guns to play light gun games. The Wii-mote works just fine. The only reason to get the light guns is if you want the experience of holding a gun.

The Nyko Perfect Shot is exactly what you need for rail shooters.
Honestly, the Zapper is kinda worthless other than the fact that Link's Crossbow Training comes with it, which is a fun little set of mini-games featuring Link from Zelda. It's easier to play the games that are intended to be used with the zapper without that shell as it sort of restricts you from quick button pressing. Call of Duty is a prime example as it takes you a second longer to hit the A, + and - buttons than if you just used the wiimote and chuck free of the gun shell.
To answer your question, the Zapper can be used for all gun games, but it's a burden more than a help.

All the guns are basically shells to hold the Wii remote and/or nunchuck. There's no electronics or hardware in any of them, besides the no-name brand ones that might have a laser pointer in them, but they all just hold the Wii remote. My favorite is the Nyko Perfect Shot, but there may be better ones out there I haven't tried. I personally don't care for the Zapper because I'd rather not have the nunchuck physically attached to the remote, and not have the extra plastic and weight on the gun if I decide not to put the nunchuck into it.

it is pointless, and they are all light guns, they just hold the wii remote and nunchuck. i like the nyko perfect shot tough... it is not as bulky as the wii zapper.
