UCSD, UCSB, CSUN? which is best for me?
So i've been accepted at 8 out of 10 schools i applied for. i've narrowed it down to UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, and CSU Northridge. My parents insist on CSUN just because it is the most convenient, in terms of location. Obviously, CSUN is not as good as the other two academically, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready to thrive on my own, and freak out at the idea of being on my own. To put it simply, I don't think I'm mature enough to move out for college, but at the same time, I want to give it a try...my parents just aren't supportive. Im confused!
Anywhooo, the question here is. What would you do in my case? And how can I convince my parents to let me try UCSD or SB?
Ohhh btw, I'm Undeclared.

You're right UCSD and UCSB are better than CSUN. UCSD i one of the best colleges in the nation and UCSB s not too far behind.
But I personally feel that as long as your dedicated and willing to work hard the ranking of the college will not hold you back.
If your worried about moving away you may even consider going to a community college. It will give you an opportunity to begin your education, and it is cheaper, and work on gaining independence. You have proven you can get into these schools once, you will most likely be able to do it again.

It kind of depends on what you are planning to major in (like do you want to go on to get a graduate degree?) because if you wish to go onto med school or law school, the UCs will give you better prep for that because of the steller academic programs they have...but in any case, you can convince your parents by telling them how great the UCs are (for ex. their rankings in the US News and World Report) and how beautiful the campuses are...
