To all of those who don't have the ability to answer a question correctly, or provide pertinent information to the question at hand, why bother wasting the asker's time with your useless answers?
Now that I have my venting done for now, the front suspension on 88-96 buick regals is unique in that is has strut cartridges that are serviceable on the vehicle. They are not serviced in the traditional way that other front struts are where you have to remove the strut assembly from the car and use a strut compressor to disassemble the strut first to transfer the old spring and mount over to the new strut. On the regals, you can remove the cartridge from the knuckle while the vehicle's wheel are on the ground. You remove them from under the hood. You do need a special removal and installation tool that can be either purchased or rented from a retail chain such as Autozone or Murray's. It's referred to as a W-body front strut service kit. One item to take note on, is that frequently the front strut bearings will begin to stiffen up over time and cause a popping noise when turning the steering wheel back and forth. When these bearing bind up, they also cause memory steer and the car to pull to which ever side is binding. In order to replace the bearings, you have to remove the knuckle from the car and remove the coil spring just like you would any other strut.
If you have never done this before, it can be challenging and somewhat dangerous if the spring compressor slips off the spring while compressed. I have done this work on regals before. I owned a 95 and currently own a 96 regal.

You'll need a spring compressor if the coil spring is part of it. If so it's probably better done at a shop, as it's not an everyday tool. good luck

It unbolts.... trust me on that one. You will need a coil spring compressor, a ball joint seperator and a tie rod seperator. You can rent them at most auto parts stores.
And a Chiltons or Haynes manual.
Either way... it can be dangerous.... you may want to have a shop do it for you.
