Is the salary too much for politicians?

It is a high salary when you consider that the president positon has many free perks. The US president's lifestyle is completely paid for by taxpayers and his lifestyle is a perk not included in the salary. There's a huge staff at no expense to the US President, including Whitehouse gardening care of $100K, plus all the use of Whitehouse decor and furnishings or purchase of new items, plus a handsome lifetime retirement pay.

Perhaps the US President pay should be less than the Britain Prime Minister because the US has a standard of living lower than Britain, and has musch lower GDP growth rate than most Asian countries.

Why you think they into politics? They not into it for you or me. They into it for themselves and for the sake of their own self-actualization. They wouldn't help you alone (financially) if you approached them for help, but they are willing to let large numbers think that they are so that it makes them look good.

The salaries aren't bad. It's the unwritten "all you can steal" policy that gripes me.
