Wiring of raido/backup lights of 1999 Ford Escort?
I have a 99 Ford Escort. In december my step son had a stereo installed with some speakers and an amp. He took it to some shady installation place that was going to give him a good deal.
Anyways besides the fact that they broke a some stuff on the dash (the heater controls) and the new dash piece barely sits in there (it does not lock into place. I was driving the car the other morning while it was dark out and got pulled over because the back up lights do not turn off. The lights that turn on when you put the car in reverse are always on. (cop was great and did not give me a ticket)
I can not get the installation place to return my calls. Is it possible for them to have caused this problem with the lights while installing a radio, speakers, or amp?
They did break the heater controls. The broken knob was sitting in the cup holder. They had to remove these when they put the new dash piece in.
The dash piece that they gave him for "free" usually costs about $100 or so does not lock into place.

i dont thik the sterio place would be able to mess it up that badly

It's unlikely the fitters broke your reversing lights the cables for the two run nowhere near each other. It's also unlikely they broke the heater controls, these are notorious for going wrong on all fords of that age (you normally end up with off and setting 4 - gale force - with nothing else).
