Why cant i down vista services pack 1?

it never works when i try to download

    Vista won't let you download service pack 1 if it thinks you may have an incompatible driver - however, you can download the standalone installer here

    Probably don't have Microsoft's downloader installed.

    Maybe you have a virus or something .I repaired a computer yesterday that wouldn't update until i ran spyware software on it.
