Medical Mystery- Just for fun?

I think these are really fun so I've come up with a fictitious character, we'll call him Patient A, and he has an illness. You get 5 questions to ask me, but I will give you information in the description.

Paramedics wheel in a 19 year old male. He was brought in after coughing up blood and has severe abdominal pain, and some lower back pain.

Other symptoms include:

-Headache

-Fever (101F)

-Muscle pain

-Muscle stiffness

-Rash

Hints:

-Further tests indicate inflammation of the kidneys and rheumatic fever.

-He stated that he has felt sick for about a month

-He has not left the country in 3 years

-He will be dead in a 5 days (the length of this question) if not cured

-Family history of heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's and obesity

In order to win, you need:

A diagnosis

A test to confirm

A treatment or cure

Good luck

Update:

No, kidney inflammation and rheumatic fever are not caused by anxiety.

Update 2:

Joel, good guess but no, an allergic reaction would not kill him that slow, if it is strong enough to kill, it will kill him fast.

Update 3:

Crystal, good guess with Lyme's Disease. However, the rash is not target shaped. It is a splotchy rash covering his right shoulder and right side of his chest.

That is the first of five question's I'm allowing.

Update 4:

Using WebMD symptom checker is not allowed. You need to figure it out on your own.

Update 5:

It is a splotchy rash localized to his right shoulder and right side of his chest.

Update 6:

Statistically, it is not Lupus, because 90% of those affected are female. Also, it would not present with inflammation of the kidneys, sore throat or abdominal pain.

Update 7:

When working on a tough diagnosis, I print one of these out and write out everything I know on it. This includes background history, medical history and symptoms.

Update 8:

Ask questions- they will help you

Update 9:

Scarlet fever is a stupid guess- it doesn't account for anything except the fever and rash.

Update 10:

If you read, I have stated that this is a fictitious case, it has no reality to it at all. You were getting close with Scarlet Fever, you just need to pursue it more.

Update 11:

Not Chron's Disease- no weight loss

    Is the rash target shaped???

    Could be Lyme Disease.

Test his blood for antibodies, and treat him with Ceftin

OOH I like this. OK, I'd chance a wager at hyperthyroidism! You might neen thyroid role exams to verify, then a every day dose of whatever to scale back, are not able to take into account the title of the capsule lol. Lucky it isn't a truly sufferer then. I desire this fictional sufferer has an extended and effective lifestyles after prognosis.

I'm sure it's all just anxiety, all in his head. At least thats what they tell me. Give the whine a ss an ativan and send him on his way DOC.
