How can i tell if my motor is ok?
I overheated my car to dry!! Had to get car brought home on truck - too far away to risk. left for approx week. i checked oil and water levels, took it for a 20 minute drive. I seems to be ok!! Is it possible i could have got away without too much damage?? I oil looks same. The Water looks a tiny bit cloudy but...? Its a old car 20 years+

Likely that you have warped the cylinder head and a longer drive will confirm problems - wouldn't stray too far from home in it if i were you.

1. Perform cylinder leak down test to confirm that the combustion chambers aren't leaking due to warped/cracked head or blown head gasket.
2. Perform coolant system pressure test to insure that you aren't losing coolant due or mixing oil and coolant due to warped/cracked head or blown head gasket.
