I totally agree. That is blatant robbery. In my opinion, D-Wade should have been DPOY, and he didn't get that, so I completely anticipated his apperance on the Defensive FIRST team. This is sick. I wish I could petition this.

This means that for all of D-Wade's great play in the best season of his career, he has nothing to show for it. (Unless he makes the All NBA first team, but I doubt that, if they put Kobe over him for the defensive team.)

The first answer is dumb as hell....Don't even mention the other side of the court...It's called all defensive team for a reason...Not an all rounder team aka all star, which he was. D-wade is a much better D player then Kobe, and he should have been on the all defensive team hands down. Welcome to the NBA though, here marketing rules, not skill, here David Stern's corporate views rule, not a player's self accomplishments. Pathetic..

The coaches voted. It's not the "NBA". Each coach got to vote for a 1st team and 2nd team defensive player and Kobe got more votes.

Personally I believe Shane Battier should be on the all defensive first team. Not only is he a great defensive player, but he studies his opponents on video before each game and learns their habits.

you have facts but shutting down a top scorer in a game doesnt show on the stat sheet. if kobe held danny granger to 12 points that is all defensive team written all over it bc kobe does tht a lot. but that stuff doesnt show on the stats sheet like blocks steals etc

a coach probably has different views compared to a fan and alot of coaches for a while have liked kobes defense

Kobe is the best player because he is good at BOTH ends of the floor. He has been good at both ends for years now, he deserves it.
