American having baby in the UK?
Would the kid have duel citizenship? I'll be in the UK for at least two years. Is there any reason why I should have the kid in the US rather than the UK?

Good reason to have the kid in the US is that the UK won't have to pay.

An American having a baby in a foreign country, must register the birth at the American embassy, preferably within one month) to assure and protect the child's American citizenship. You can also get the child's social security card at this time. This registration is crucial to being sure your child has American citizenship and will be allowed to enter the U.S. See 1st site below. American passport. Unless one parent is a British citizen, the child will not have dual American-British citizenship. Just being born in Britain, does not confer citizenship. See 2nd article below and read very carefully, the section titled British Citizenship by Birth in the United Kingdom.
