Taxi charges & service from Coimbatore station to ooty ?

HI! I am travelling with mine and my friends family in the last week of May. We will be reaching Coimbatore in the morning at around 5.30 am by Kerala express. Is there a taxi stand for Ooty , from the station itself? What would be charges of a non-AC taxi? How much time will take to reach Ooty ? How is the climate in the last week of May ? Please guide me with details. Please do not tell me to go to metupalayam and catch toy train. Timings would not match.

Check this website for Taxi services in Coimbatore and call them.

Usually it costs around Rs. 2500 to 3000 for taxi and you should find one near to the railway station. It takes approximately 2-3 hrs depending on the weather and road condition. You may see some monsoon activities during May.

http://fasttrackcalltaxi.in/home.htm - Check with them regarding your cab charges and services from Coimbatore Junction Railway Staton to Ootacamund.

Just book a cab with FastTrack and tell them your train no. arrival time and coach, so the chaffeur will be standing outside with a signboard of carrying your name and particulars, also ask them the vehicle no. so then it would be pretty fine once you reach there. 3 hrs drive approximately from Coimbatore Railway Station to Ootacamund, its just less than 100 kilometres, so depends on weather conditions on the route, vehicle condition, and driving skills and traffic condition, but the roads are hopeless, the hill ones. Last week of May, well recently I heard in the news that Ootacamund the weather is no more cool, maybe due to global warming, and its a messy place with littering plastics, garbage all around etc.. So suggest you go to Munnar. That place rocks.

as for as trains are concerned, it is better to gatecrash into one than to reserve blah blah, be adventurous, hop into the next train that comes by and enjoy the trip. haha
