Why isn't the U.S. taking more care with N1H1 influenza than Mexico?

I looked at the stats on wikipedia and it says that the US has more confirmed cases of the swine flu than Mexico. Or am I looking at something wrong?

H1N1 is mostly media hype. There have been very few deaths from the virus when you look at it in perspective. The seasonal flu kills about 36,000 Americans a year, H1N1, not so much.

More is not always better, especially in medicine. There was a swine flu scare in 1979, and the US mobilized into a huge immunization program. One person died from swine flu, and nine from Guillain-Barre syndrome from the immunization. Once burned, twice shy.
