help! smart people math~!!!!!?

Okay so:

Theres a stadium that needs to be divided into three sections. A B and C, there are 2000 seats in all.

I need to figure out how many seats are in each sections when:

B has 600 more seats then A

and C has twice as many seats as A

Only 66% of the seats in each section are being sold, so i need to know how many seats are being taken up also,

PLEASE DO TWO SEPERATE EQUATIONS.

SHOW YOUR WORK PLEASE!

i need to understand how you did it.

    Part I:

    1. Start out with an equation: a + b + c = 2,000

    2. There, now replace with each values with:

    b = a + 600

    c = 2a

    3. Now, you should have: a + (a +600) + (2a) = 2,000. Note: you don't actually need the parenthesis, I just used it to help you see the values.

    4. Simplify the equation to: 4a + 600 = 2,000

    5. Subtract 600 from both sides of the equation. It should look like this after: 4a = 1400.

    6. Divide by both sides by four. I should look like this now: a = 350. Now you know how many seats are in section A.

    7. Now go back to your equations (step 2) and plug in the 350 in place of A.

    b = a + 600 should now look like b = 350+ 600

    and c = 2a should look like c = 2(350) or 2 x 350

    And now you do the math.

    Part II: For the percentages, get a calculator and multiply the number of seats in each section by 66%, or .66:

    Section A = a x .66*

    Section B = b x .66*

    Section C = c x .66*

    * = Plug in the numbers from Part I!

    Check your answer in Part II by adding up your answers: ((66% x a) + (66% x b) + (66% x c)). Write down what ever you got. Now, mulitply 2000 by 66%. You should get the same answer as when you added up 66% of the seats from a, b, and c.

    Personally, I would use to get confuse on this kind of stuff all the time, but I learned to write out what I knew in an equation first (Like "this = that"). Then, I would replace each value with more given info (Look at step 2), after all info and variables were replace, I'd start solving using basic math. :)
