can anyone help me find anythig earlier than 1900 on edmond carl porter in Georgia?
he lived with his grandmother annie whisenant in 1900 in georgia i am trying to find ,an earlier connection to be sure of his parents.he was 14 in 1900.

Leora, I looked at some items for your person, several months ago.
Someone who is 14 in 1900, was born about 1886..meaning, he WILL NOT be with parents in 1880. Because HIS last name is Porter, and grandma is Whisenant.. the implication is clear that Annie is his mother's mother. What can be done is look very closely at Annie' and children in 1880, looking for a daughter.. and look in county records for a Porter/ Whisenant marriage.
I can't find it immediately.. but seems like I had sent you 1880 for Annie, and the fact that a Porter family lived within a few houses.
You probably will only find records that need to be put together, instead of direct ones.

Need a little more info. Is the person your seeking black? I found a family with kids and grandkids in the 1880 census. Does the last name spring sound familiar? If you know any sibling name that would help.
