Why do atheists come to this forum?

I like to learn. I like to see the different ways that people look at various religions and spiritual topics.

Being an atheists does not mean one is not spiritual. I am a very spiritual person.

Reading and learning is what led me to becoming an athiest.

It seems to me that they like to debate, and are not always polite about it, sometimes being downright confrontational. But on the other hand, some of the religious people can be the same way. I try to just ignore and overlook the rude people on both sides. Sometimes I find myself somewhere in the middle, so perhaps both sides dislike me, for all I know. I have noticed that I get a good many thumbs down.

BTW, even the atheists have a belief system of sorts, even if it is one of disbelief. They too have an agenda and an ax to grind. I think they are as anxious to convert others as many of the religionists are.

I am a proud christian myself but I saw the question and wanted to come see what people were saying..

And just a question to the atheists..

Claiming atheists you are saying you have no belief in God, but you do. You believe he doesn't exist.. that is still a belief. So then what is true atheism? And I'm not asking this to be offensive. It is someting I am honestly curious about.

I am buddhist. I do not have a god.But I am a very spiritual person. Besides, why do people keep asking us questions if they don't want us here?

Just because we are not christians does not mean that we are not spiritual people. There are plenty of christians only sites out there if you want homogeny and conformity to you belief system and that one only, then I suggest you go there as this one is obviously frustrating you!

Atheist. A (non) theist (belief in god). There are plenty of Religions that do not have a god. Buddhism is a world religion, no god. Taoism or Confucianism, no god. There are plenty of people who are spiritual but not religious.

And, there are no end of questions here addressed to atheists. THIS question is addressed to atheists.

Finally, this question has been asked over and over again. There is a Button right up top there that says 'search for questions.' Why is it theists can't figure this out?

Well, if atheists didn't come here there really wouldn't be anything interesting to talk about. 99% of what goes on here is bickering between thoses that believe and those that do not. There is nothing more boring that talking to others that only share your beliefs. You don't learn anything. Perhaps we are all draw here to teach someone something.

I think the religion bit was meant for the religious people

and the spiritual bit is for the atheist

I am incredibly interest in such subjects. Why would you think otherwise?

Do you that know there are humans in the Cats Sections and you are allowed in the food section even if you are not a honeydew melon or a carrot?

On the contrary, we come here because we're interested in the subject. I think if you go to the mythology section you'll find plenty of people who are interested in mythology but don't believe in the Greek or Roman gods.

How do you know what interests me?

I don't belittle those who have a belief system...mostly what I end up doing on this forum is defending my beliefs against those who would threaten or belittle them.
