Sewing Machine Issues?

I have been having an issue with my Singer Inspiration that I just got for Christmas. It has been working fairly well until today when the bobbin on the bottom kept getting thread wrapped around it and the bottom stitching was very very loose while the top was fine. I tried adjusting the tension but it only affected the top stitches. So basically how do I not have the bottom stitching insanely loose (as in so loose it got all tangled and knotted and hung down about an inch) because obviously it is impossible to sew with it so out of wack. So yeah. I'm trying to sew a skirt for my brother's graduation on thursday so help ASAP would be GREAT

Clean out the bobbin area to make sure it is free of thread snips and lint.

Set the tension back to normal.

Lift the presser foot (always when threading) and re-thread the machine.

We sometimes forget to do this and the result is loopy, nasty stitches that look like it is a problem with the bobbin, but it is not.

When the foot is down, the tension control closes and when threading the machine, the thread will not drop into the tension mechanism.

No thread in the tension control equals no tension on the thread. No tension on the top thread and it will not catch the bobbin thread to form a proper stitch.

if the bobbin stitchin gis loose it will be the bobbin tension this is ussaly tightened or loosened by a screw on the bobbin case if you do not know where this is or do not feel confident enough take it to your local dealer and tell them you think the bobbin tension is loose they should help you with this promblem for a small charge it will only take a few minutes hope this helps xx
