question about heat effects on materials.?

first i need to know what metal has the highest melting/failing temperature and what it is. second i need to know if it is possible to melt or burn clay,ceramic, or plaster.

    1) More information is required to choose a good material for a high temperature application. What type of forces will it be subjected to at this temperature? What do you mean by failing? Structural failure or just melting? Materials become weaker before melting.

    2) Everything can melt, but ceramic & clay melt at very high temperature
