Driving from MN to Houston in July - what would make a reasonable stopping place or places?
I know how far it is - and that it's about 18 hours - I would leave on a Monday and need to be there on Wednesday. What make sense for overnight stops?

I'll give it a go
Just so you know if as I suspect you got that number of 18 hours from mapquest et al .it's wrong .by about 5-6 hours
The way that they arrive at their point to point times is by taking the mileage of the route that they've selected and dividing by the posted speed limit of the roads that will be traveled on
They don't into consideration things like pit stops , weather , tiredness, traffic

I'm gonna suggest a really neat little town called Guthrie OK as place to spend a night
