Why don't I feel good? It's been five days now and still the same. Started with a fever.?

Monday, while biking I started to feel bad and it just got worse over the next hour. So bad that I had to walk the bike and get some food. However, when the food was dropped off I could not eat and continued to feel even worse. I felt hot with some chills and started to sweat all over. I took some Tylenol and in about 30 min felt good enough to eat and continued to feel better as the day went on. It's been five days now and I'm still not 100%. My stomach has continued to feel upset. I feel like I want to throw up but don't. I'm also feeling a bit week. My hands feel like they would shake if held them up but they don't shake. I'm not going #2 too well either and I'm a bit gassy. I'm a 40 year old male in pretty good shape, 6' and 170 lbs. What's up? Getting a bit frightened. Please help.

You might want to get a checkup with your doctor. This doesn't sound good, it doesn't sound like a flu or cold or anything of that nature. I don't mean to scare you, but you are at that age when heart problems can start, some of the symptoms are weakness, dizziness, indigestion, nausea and sweating. Since you were working out at the time, I can't help but think you may have overexerted yourself and may have caused a strain. You can also get those symptoms from being dehydrated - that can affect the body as seriously as a heart attack. People can die from dehydration. First, get to a doctor and tell them everything. Second, keep aspirin with you at all times - if there is even a remote chance that it is heart related taking one aspirin can save your life. Not tylenol or motrin - aspirin is what helps. Third, do not do any working out until you get checked out. Fourth, drink a lot of water, and Gatorade or other hydrating sport drink. It could simply be overexertion so try not to get too worked up, but get checked out.
