    I'm not sure what you have done that makes you think this, but if it is a real possibility that it has happened you must take him to the vet as an emergency. He will find it painful and difficult to breathe if one of his ribs is broken. Ring the vet at once, explain what has happened and take him in as an emergency.

    Of course you must tell someone. If you don't and the little hamster dies you will have to tell someone then. You must do the proper thing and tell the vet, or tell one of your parents (or even a neighbour) and get them to ring the vet. You must not let a little animal suffer because you don't want to tell anyone. This little hamster's life is at stake, you must not let him suffer. Ring the vet. NOW!!!

    If you have done something you shouldn't have, what is important is to do the right thing now. What if your sister thought she had broken your rib but didn't want to tell? Wouldn't you want to see a doctor at all costs? Make sure this innocent little creature gets the help he needs right away.

    I am hoping that your sister's hamster is on his way to the vet right now...

    Wow..

    Hamsters can sustain broken bones from a fall or drop, they can suffer bruising, sprains and strains from running on a hamster wheel or in a hamster ball, and the list goes on. Here's some signs of a serious injury in a hamster:

    * Bleeding

    * Swelling

    * Tenderness

    * Limping

    * Labored Breathing

    * Refusal to Eat/Drink

    * Aggression When Handled

    * Excessive Vocalizations and Squeaks

    * Raspy Breathing

    The treatment for an injured hamster varies depending on the cause and severity of the injury. Some injuries are considered treatable, while other injuries are so severe that it's more humane to euthanize the injured pet hamster.

    You said ribs, These hamster injuries are often survivable, but the hamster must be provided with supportive care like hand-feeding, pain medication and ice compresses.

    Your hammy can survive with supportive care. But pain medication is a must, so therefore, you will need to visit the vet

    Often, a hamster will stop eating and drinking due to pain, and it's dehydration and malnutrition that ultimately lead to the hamster's death. Pain medication will make the hamster comfortable during the healing process.

    Applying ice compresses to the hamster's injured limb can also help to reduce pain, though caution should be taken to keep the rest of the hamster's body warm during and after the cold compress is applied to prevent hypothermia.

    You should avoid handling their hamster unless it's absolutely necessary; this helps to reduce stress and discomfort. it's also important to keep the injured hamster in a clean cage, located in a warm, quiet location that's conducive to rest and recovery.

    In some cases, a hamster who is being treated with pain medication will eat and drink, but less than normal. In these instances, hand feeding and subcutaneous fluid injections may be necessary to help sustain the hamster until his injuries begin to heal.

    Good luck!

    I would definitely take it to a vet's office. I've looked around online to find a good answer but it seems that everyone else just says to take it to a vet's office too. If the injury isn't bad (no internal organs hurt) then a pain killer may do the trick, if something else did happen, I'm afraid I don't know what to tell you.

    Good luck!

    Ooh my! Well, if you think it is broken, you should really take it to the vet as soon as possible, but since you cant take it to the vet right now, you should put it somewhere that it is comfy, and make sure it is at ease and has food and water extra close. But as soon as you can, take that poor thing to the vet!

    well then you should take the hamster to your mom or dad and don't be afraid

    to ask them if you can take it to the vet.

    but make sure your sister isnt around=DD

    hope this helps=DD
