mercedes clk200 1998 petrol+gas auto?

the but after about drives very well but after about 13 miles when i go to stop at the lihts or sit in traffic the engine whants to cut out and i have to keep on stating it it does not do it all the time .there are no engine lights on at all i have put in new plugs and have cheact all the air filters but just can not work out what it can be. can any one help

    Your problem is very simple. You have a dirty IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. Your VECI map should show you where it is. You may also have a dirty PCV valve and hose. Power wash your engine to see thing better. Use a can of Gum-out spray to clean these items. ON many Mercedes engines, the valve is separately mounted near the intake manifold. Hopefully, you are using Platinum or iridium plugs in this engine and not some plugs purchased cheaply at a local auto parts store. You will lose power and fuel economy with these cheapo plugs. Use Bosch Fusion or Denso Iridium plugs. Install them AFTER you have solved the idling problem. Clean your throttle body and plate thoroughly, as well. Run the Gum-out spray through as many vacuum ports as you can see with engine RUNNING, warm. Good luck!! I wish I was there to show you. It's EASY!! You should ONLY be using Mobil One or ELF oil in this engine!!! These oils make no sludge to clog up the other systems.
