Am I alone in thinking that South Carolina Governor Sanford should just keep his mouth shut now?

He keeps saying more and more and really more is not needed to be said. His wife I feel sooo sorry for. they say they are trying to fix their marriage but how can she even think about it when he keeps running his mouth to the press especially with things he has said today?

"This was a whole lot more than a simple affair, this was a love story," Sanford said. "A forbidden one, a tragic one, but a love story at the end of the day."

During an emotional interview at his Statehouse office with The Associated Press on Tuesday, Sanford said Chapur is his soul mate but he's trying to fall back in love with his wife.

How is his wife suppose to try and go on with him when he makes comments like this? And their poor kids, hasn't this man done enough to embarrass these poor children?

Here is what he said today..... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090630/ap_on_re_us/us...

I have to assume that he really does not want to get back with his wife but wants her to file the divorce papers. There's no other reason for making clear that someone else is your "soul mate," but for the sake of the kids, you're going to try to see if you can love your wife again. How magnanimous of him.

If he weren't in the spotlight, he would have divorced her already. instead, he wants her to make that move.

People have affairs, but at least they could try to mimimize the damage. He apparently has no interest in doing that.

He needs to take a few pages out of Eliot Spitzer's playbook, and disappear from the public eye to see if he can make things work with his wife.
