How do I make a netgear router secured? When connecting to it says unsecured?

    Hi TJ,

    To make your wireless router secure, you need to login to the router.

    Open Internet Explorer / Firefox (whichever browser you have) with the IP Address: 192.168.0.1 (Default IP).

    It will ask for username and password. Enter the same.

    Click on Wireless Settings link on the Left Side. This is where you find the SSID (default is Netgear) and the Security Settings.

    Follow the below link and it will guide you step by step what you can do.

    PS: I advice keeping WPA2 as security for wireless as it works good.

    To secure your router, you must set up an encryption key. Go into your router's wireless security settings, and select WEP under security. You will have to enter this key into each computer that connects to your router once, and they are free to use your internet.

    go to the devices webpage... by typing 192.168.1.1 and admin admin for pwd and username and click security and choose security..... after that remove it from auto connect devices in your laptop and reconnect
