Haven't you learned yet that what a leftist environmentalist says and what he does are two different things?

Just look at Al Gore who is pushing for global warming to go global. He uses more energy than most of us do in a month.

Humans exist on this planet, there is no way around that. The least we can do is learn to adapt and make a lower impact. Environmentalists working on traffic is one of the best ideas I have heard in a while. There are many ways he/she is going to be able to reduce emissions and lower the environmental impact simply by making travel more efficient, especially at peak hours of the day.

An environmentalist, in this society/economy we have developed, cannot reduce their impact on the environment to zero, however there is much they do to minimize their impact, such as not driving stupid gas guzzlers, not living in Mc Mansions, using a clothesline instead of a dryer, and a host of other things.

Al Gore does consume a lot of energy, however he mitigates this consumption by educating the public on threats to the environment, thereby serving a greater good.

Politician responsible for dealing with the local traffic?

It's not the same. It would be more like an animal rights person trying to make the breeding and slaughtering of animals more animal friendly.
