If you had a c-section because of placenta previa, which pain medication did you get?

I've read that an epidural or spinal block would not be recommended for a cesarian section because of full placenta previa. I'm a little upset to think that my only option is going to be a general anesthetic, so I'm wondering if anyone out there has had an epidural for this condition and surgery? I want to see my baby being born!!!! Thanks ladies :)

I've never heard of that in cases of placenta previa. You should still be able to get the epi or spinal. General would only be used in case of any emergency. Talk to your Dr about what options you have ahead of time..don't wait until delivery!

Source(s): Had an epi with my 1st c-section, spinal w/ 2nd, general with the 3rd (emergency) and will be having a spinal with section #4 on Tuesday.
