Running with foot problems?

I have some kind of foot fungus/rash that is currently undiagnosed, but I'm currently in the process of training for a half marathon in 3 months (rubbish timing, I know).

Is it advisable to rest until my problem is treated? I am waiting for a diagnosis at the moment, but no idea when that will actually be and never had to manage with anything like this before.

Hello. I don't think you need to stop running for that, just make sure that your socks/shoes aren't making it worse.

Not a particular runnign problem, normal people can have that as well.

Hygiene is the key here thoughb it will cost a touch.

Clean socks with every run (some runners don't - I don't always)

Get a second pair of trainers and alternate them, and a disinfectant spray in them after you have used them

Get a second pair of normal shoes and alternate them

Get a second pair of bumming around trainers (and keep trainers specific for running) and alternate them.

The idea is that whatever is causing the fungus and rash keeps re-infecting your feet every time you put the shoes on, let it die off between wearing the shoes and half the problem solved. Spray the shoes with disinfectant spray between uses and that should help (the fungus likes we so allowing the shoes to dry will help). Second pairs of shoes and trainers sound excessive, but over time you will wear them out - they will just last twice as long.

When you get the diagnosis follow the treatment of thet.

you definitely need to get rid of fungus!

for me worked very well ZetaClear! I think it is the fastest way to get rid of fungus! Nail fungus is tough to treat. The extracts in Zetaclear provide the most powerful therapeutic effect for healthy looking nails.

Obviously, you can't spray herbicide on your feet or hands! The next best thing is Zetaclear. It's made from all-natural homeopathic ingredients. This product works time after time and results are guaranteed. This extra strength solution is designed to be as aggressive and strong as possible, without causing irritation.

It worked fast and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry ZetaClear but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.zetaclear.com/?aid=749165

Best thing to do would be to inspect your feet then put on fresh socks before a run (you should have running socks for a half marathon anyway, I would recomend 1000 mile socks).

Do your run and wash feet and change socks straight after run. give your feet some time to chill out after (around an hour) then have a look to see if the rash is any worse than before the run. If it is then prob best to not irritate it further as theres a good chance it will just put you out of traing for longer. If its fine then your fine to run!

If the problem isn't causing a problem with your running then I would say go for it. Just make sure you use good socks and trainers. Wash your feet daily, with a soap-free cleanser and use a different towel to everyone else in the family. Also don't wear your trainers when you're not running as this will make your feet sweat more. Good luck!
