Fifteen year old girl dies because father prays over her diabetes?

He believed that God would take care of her. He was convicted of 2nd degree reckless homicide. So, two questions, really. How deep is your faith? and At what point do you stop trusting God, and start looking for Man to cure an illness or injury? No atheists, please.

Update:

oops Eve's older sister Lilith is right. the girl was 11.

Update 2:

oops Eve's older sister Lilith is right. the girl was 11.

    Why no atheists?

Are you afraid of what they would say?

Can you not face different ideas from your own?

They will not have any different views on the case you have highlighted!!

There is praying and there is praying. I do believe that if God willed that girl to live, she would have, but, I would have made sure that she would have had her meds and was hospitalized, and if the hospital gave her a death sentence, praying would have been not a last resort, but my only hope. Sometimes there is nothing anyone can do and if its your time to go, there is no stopping it. Yes I believe God could have saved her, but there is a reason why she was not and only God knows the answer to those questions., but today, God expects us to go by man's laws as long as they don't surpass his own. In the girls case, medical attention should have been first and foremost. I would give my kids any chance of survival and not putting GOD last, but knowing that by the time I knew that she wasn't going to make it, I could probably deal with the loss somewhat better, knowing, everything was tried.

It is amazing to see this hapening in the country that has the best medical institutions of learning in the world and that received the largest number of Nobel prizes in medicine.

It demonstrates again that the public school system is failing in many parts of the country and that schizoid delusional mental disorder mixed with religious delusions and superstitions can be a very dangerous mental disease...

This has nothing to do with faith and everything to do with naivety.

There's no dichotomy here. Intelligent people of faith have no problem doing BOTH simultaneously.

We take our kids to the doctors (with whom God has endowed a medical forte) and pray our hearts out in the waiting room.

I understand his trial is ongoing. I hope he gets the same verdict as his wife: Guilty on all counts.

I would trust that God gave the doctor intelligence to help cure my child. If one doctor wouldn't help..I'd go to another and another while continually praying for my child's well being. If the doctor's couldn't help I'd do research on my own to look for a cure for my child.

    She was 11 years old.

In the middle of the article the writer talks briefly about a 15 month old baby, that also died, from another case.

    physician. and Pray

    Read that Pleas

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AufNI...

and also don't put God in test

Read wisdom son of Sirach in the Holy Bible second law book

    Chapter 38:1-14

    Chapter 38

    1

Honour the physician for the need thou hast of him: for the most High hath created him.

    2

For all healing is from God, and he shall receive gifts of the king.

    3

The skill of the physician shall lift up his head, and in the sight of great men he shall be praised.

    4

The most High hath created medicines out of the earth, and a wise man will not abhor them.

    5

Was not bitter water made sweet with wood?

    6

The virtue of these things is come to the knowledge of men, and the meet High hath given knowledge to men, that he may be honoured in his wonders.

    7

By these he shall cure and shall allay their pains, and of these the apothecary shall make sweet confections, and shall make up ointments of health, and of his works there shall be no end.

    8

For the peace of God is over all the face of the earth.

    9

My son, in thy sickness neglect not thyself, but pray to the Lord, and he shall heal thee.

    10

Turn away from sin and order thy hands aright, and cleanse thy heart from all offence.

    11

Give a sweet savour, and a memorial of fine flour, and make a fat offering, and then give place to the physician.

    12

For the Lord created him: and let him not depart from thee, for his works are necessary.

    13

For there is a time when thou must fall into their hands:

    14

And they shall beseech the Lord, that he would prosper what they give for ease and remedy, for their conversation.

    15

He that sinneth in the sight of his Maker, shall fall into the hands of the physician.

  • I believe in God...I believe he helps heal but he trusts our judgment as well. That girl needed help. Her father didn't get her that help. It is his fault and he deserves said punishment.

Sorry but I have to chime in.

He did it because he believed prayer could heal, just like the Bible says.

I believe in God and I trust in his will and purpose. I know he is God!!! I wont stop trusting in Jesus..why? Because I know he the creator of the universe and my healer. And if he doesnt heal me than I will trust in him, but I will not totally look to a man to cure me, I believe God can use a doctor, but when all else fails look to JESUS!! He is the author and finisher of our faith.
