Nadal beaten by Djoko? Do you think Rafa is a threat to Fed in Flushing Meadows? Or to Fed's being a legend?

every one in the draw is a threat in any match because the statue of a player in that day can be with one and not the other but until now Nadal is not considered a threat like he used to be to Federer, maybe Federer is scared from Murray and Roddick more in the US open, but if we gave Nadal a little bit of time he will come back good and scary.

and for Federer being a legend, no one can be a threat to that, he has 15 GS and 16 title in the ATP and the record now is 17 for Agassi so Federer can break that and with the number of wins and the titles, he had just wrote his name with gold and nothing can take that away from the tennis history

This year I don't think Nadal will be a huge factor at the open he just isn't playing his best right now just give him time and he will resume his top form and as for as a threat to Federer's legend-hood I think Nadal is the reason Federer is a legend because Fed's contemporaries, like Nadal, are great players if it not for Rafa Roger's great wins would not be so great there is no doubt Federer and Nadal are both some of the best the game has ever seen and their rivalry feeds their greatness especially Federer.

This year I don't think Nadal will live up to his former glory at the U.S Open. He has injuries and is not playing at his best at the moment. I would not think that he would be even in the finals of the tournament, given that there are just so much talented new players out there. I look forward to seeing Nadal compete at his best next year though.

I do think that Federer will win the title this year, beating either Murray, Roddick or Djokovic in the finals.

I think he is a threat. The great thing about a grand slam is that you don't face real challenges in the first couple of rounds , allowing him to gain some confidence and more match play. Nadal is extremely good at making adjustments in his game, so by now he should now what adjustments he has to make in order to beat the top players. Sure Rafa wasn't at his best in the last couple of tournaments but you can never count him out. With his talent and heart he will always be a threat.

Federer is tennis. To beat him you must beat the game itself. I think Rafa is a threat to Fed at USO if both make at least the semis, because he is such a fighter and wants badly to complete the career slam. If Roger plays his best and comes forward at every chance then he should win. Is he threat to Fed being a legend? Absolutely not. Nobody has made the game of tennis look so majestic or displayed such effortless dominance over his rivals.

For now, i dont think nadal is much of a threat to federer, but rather murray and del potro poses a bigger threat to him. But you'll never know, nadal might just be in form again and possibly topple federer.

  • Nadal is getting back to his old form, but I don't think he will be quite ready to challenge Federer or some of the other top players like Roddick, Del Potro, Djokovic, or Murray at the US Open. I could see Nadal making it to the quarters, maybe to the semis, but not farther than that.

And no Nadal can't threaten Federer's legend status. The man has won 15 grand slam titles and counting. NOTHING can threaten his legend status.

Unfortunately, Rafa will need more match play to get to his best, so he won't be a threat to roger this year. But murray and djokovic seem to be playing well so we can look forward to some interesting encounters between them.

Every player in the draw is a threat. Some more than others. I'd say Federer is more worried about Murray and Roddick compared to anyone else.

Roger is playing exceptionally well right now - just look at his win in Cincinnati, while Rafa is still coming back from injury.

Roger went all out and it must send a message to his opponents that he is well and truly back.
