Any Warriors Fans know why Jackson wants out of Golden State?
It seems like Golden State has been mutually great for Stephen Jackson and the Warriors. Jackson seems to have revived his career (after the incident at the Palace) and is a team captain. Just seemed like he was happy and now he's wanting out... thoughts, theories?

Well look at the Warriors' roster, there's been such an influx of guards in the recent history that they've adapted to a new offensive system which is fun and entertaining, but if you got no real bigs (no offense no randolph) you're not gonna get far and no one will take you seriously. You look at Monta, Morrows, Curry, Jackson, Maggette, Watson, Azibuike, they're all wingmen. This roster is really deep in wingmen. So deep they had to take players out of their comfort zone and make them play out of their positions. And when you look at how young this team is they're more of a team in transition than contender. Randolph, Curry, and Ellis/Morrow (eventually they'll have to choose one) are up and coming (Ellis coming off injury). Jackson simply sat back and realized all of this in the summer. And trust me, roster wise he's doing you guys a favor unless you get more guards in return.

I used to like Jax, but now he is a back-stabbing **. He will get boo-ed at the Roaracle if he gets traded, and comes to play. I say the Warriors should trade him and Brandan Wright or Corey Maggette, and go after a leader. In my opinion, I think Shane Battier would be a PERFECT fit with the Warriors. He is one of the league's best defenders, can shoot the ball, and he can also be a veteran team leader for the young guys on the Warriors, like Morrow, AR, and Curry. Plus he is a good guy at heart. Somebody should convince the Warriors' front office to go after Shane. Everyone's happy: The Warriors, the Rockets, and Stephen Jackson.

He wants to win a title. Here is my theory.
He doesn't care that he's team captain, he's fed up with money and thinks he can do what he wants, and he wants out. Here is a trade I think might work
Warriors get: Andrea Kirilenko
Jazz get: Stephen Jackson, Speedy Claxton
Then the Warriors will try dealing Kirilenko or Maggette. I think the only reason they signed Maggette was to get revenge on the Clippers for signing Baron. Really wasn't smart, Maggette is not worth 9 million a year. Especially in this economy. And look how off topic I got?

The reasoning Jackson gave is that he is hungry for a ring.
My theory and I think the user Corey have mentioned it in an answer too is that: jackson just extended his contract. So he can set himself for the long haul. And now he wants out of Golden State and play for a contending team. So he can get the best of both worlds---money and rings.
If so, he pretty much set the Warriors up for a big heist.

I guess he wants to win a championship. I don't understand how he comes to this conclusion now after saying he wants to retire a Warrior. I honestly don't know what to make of it. I do know the Warriors' front office needs some SERIOUS revamping. Every Warrior that leaves (except BD) tends to do much better with their new team. SJax is a great player he could easily shine somewhere else.

I love Stephen Jackson, but I do understand that he wants to win. He says that at 31, he doesn't want to wait another couple years until this team develops and wants a shot at another title. San Antonio would be a good fit for him. What I would really want though, is to trade him, Claxton, and Maggette to Miami for Jermaine O'Neal. It gives Wade 2 20 point scorers, and gives the Warriors cap relief, so they could go after Bosh in 2010.

Stephen Jackson wants to go to a title contending team. The Warriors are NOT a title contending team.

It's a sad day that my Lakers lose but it's just one game, it's not the end of the world. But the Lakers miss a chance of building some separation and breathing room in the tough Western Conference. The Lakers just missing some inside present like Pau Gasol and Bynum otherwise this would have been an easy victory for the Lakers. Go Lakers!!!!!!!!!

First of all, Don Nelson is a horrible coach. He told Jackson that he stunk after he had been battling injuries just to play. None of the star players from that playoff stunning team in '07 is left but him. Jackson is one of those players who craves a ring, which he deserves another, but is on one of the worst teams in the league.

I like your questions. They're always interesting. I think he wants to get out of GS because the Warriors aren't really contenders anymore. He said that according to Yahoo Sports. But that's true. Last year the Warriors failed to make it to the playoffs. It doesn't seem that they are this year.
