Golden Princess to Hawaii?

We are headed out September 27th and have a balcony on the Lido deck. How far can I push for an upgrade to a suite and will our 30th anniversary do it? Thanks!

Update:

Thanks! I know we will love it, and hearing your details helped that along. Hubby was planning on being bored while on board, I can tell him he will have plenty to do. I just thought with 2 weeks, the bigger the more comfortable, hence the suite. We done one weeker's - we were afraid 2 weeks would be a little long.

Your travel agent has to recommend you for an upgrade, but to tell you the truth, just don't count on it. Besides you will find a balcony on the Golden to be real nice. I have sailed on the Golden 3 times and the last one which was last year was round trip from L.A. to Hawaii. If this is the trip your taking, you will absolutely LOVE it. So much of this cruise is geared towards the Hawaiian islands from lectures about the islands(Hawaii Bob is not to be missed) to hula classes and lei making classes. They even had a luau on board, plus survivor and amazing race. The sea days are just as great as the ports in Hawaii are. So, don't worry if you do not get an upgrade(but you never know) as this cruise will be wonderful no matter what kind of cabin you have.

Pushing is not likely to be of much help, nor will the anniversary. Upgrades are usually given first to those who have shown loyalty by being repeat cruisers and those with the most get first dibs. I have been on cruises where people have had 80 or 90 cruises on the same line.
