Why do so many questioners say "loose" when they mean lose?

Loose is the opposite of tight. Lose means something is getting smaller or has been misplaced. When you diet you lose weight. After you lose weight, your belt is too loose.

    Because they cant spel, duh.

I was helping my friend unpack for college, and there was a bulletin up that read something along the lines of, "How to loose a grade in ten weeks." Upset by the fact that this was a university and that that person couldn't read, I actually took the liberty of ripping one of the O's down. It now correctly reads, "How to lo se a grade in ten weeks"
