What download rate for PS3 games internet usage?
If you're using PS3 to play games with a remote contact, what is the typical download rate? Is it roughly the same as for video downloads, or would it be more like the rate for, say, text files? (Trying to work out whether to pay for unlimited internet usage or settle for a cheaper service with a 12GB monthly download limit).

It varies from game to game, but playing a game typically uses between 1 and 15 megabytes per hour. Even at 15 megabytes an hour, you'd hit 12GB a month only if you played every second of every hour of every day.
Realistically, I think you'll find that typical gaming is around 1 to 2 GB/month.
