Copying my CD,s to Mp3 format on my hard drive?

what sample rate and compression (constant of variable) and KBPS should I use when converting my CD's to MP3 format on my harddrive for the best sound while minimizing file size. i am using Roxio media creator

    192kbps is the standard and is decent quality while maintaining a smaller file size. Anything lower and you start to lose quality
