Hello! This question is the source of a great deal of misinformation. The bottom line is there is only limited consistency between Fender bodies and necks. Both the width of the heel and the thickness has varied slightly depending on specific model, year produced, and country-of-manufacture. Having said all that, most American and Mexican necks and bodies within the same manufacturing era are interchangeable. In regards to the Squier models, the heel thickness and corresponding depth of the neck cavity is generally different than the MIA and MIM Stratocasters, and may require undesirable modifications to fit properly.
