What color should I dye my hair?

i have really dark black hair and i'm kind of getting tired of it.

what shade could i dye it, not to be too drastic just to have some more lighter tones like brown?

any suggestions?

ps. ive never colored my hair before if that matters.

    you can either go medium brown, medium reddish brown, burgundy or a deep shade of red or mahogany. then you can always add highlights to your hair after you color it. you should try going to the store, bring a friend and a mirror and try holding the color boxes up to your face to see which looks best against your skin. good luck!
