thanks for your answers but what i wanted to know if anyone had heard about the extension? i read it in the computers news

    YES. Asked and answered.

    It is being considered in Congress. It has not passed either house, it is only a BILL not a LAW. Remember your civics, bill in one house, then the other, then to President for signature. It is only at very earliest stage which means it may eventually become law or it may never become law. YOU have to read the news, watch what YOUR government is doing and Inform yourself.
