how can i make my canon 450d shoot in RAW?

please help!

    Your Instruction Manual shows you how. Have a look at the Function Availability Table on pages 170-171. There you will learn that you cannot select RAW shooting while in AUTO mode, so select P (or another possible mode) instead.

    Then go to the Index of your Instruction Manual and look up...RAW and it will direct you to the appropriate pages.

    I would advise you to shoot in RAW+Jpeg. That way you get your RAW file, but you also get the instant usabilty of a Jpeg.
