Canadian citizienship?

Do any of you have a recent experience with a relative in Canada trying to became a citizen? My friend took the citizenship test on april 7, 2009 and have not heard a yes or no. what do you think

Update:

I UNDERSTAND YOUR ANSWER BUT MY QUESTION IS IF SHE TOOK THE TEST ON APRIL 7 HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO KNOW IF SHE HAD PASSED OR IF BY NOT ANSWERING BACK MEANS SHE HAD FAILED

Your friend will be notified if she passed or failed the test so the question is, has she moved since taking the test. If so then her notification may have been returned. The entire process takes approximately 14 months from the time she submitted her application (not writing her test) according to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. The time between writing the test and receiving citizenship can take from 3 up to 7 months depending on the circumstances. Your friend should be able to track her application on line or by contacting the call centre. If she has moved then she needs to contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada to notify them of the change.

Has your relative moved in the meantime? If you pass you are sent an invitation to the ceremony where you are sworn in and become a Canadian citizen. If you fail to appear you dont complete the final step in the process

Your relative needs to contact Canada Immigration and find out what has happened to his/her application.

How long will I wait between my citizenship test and the ceremony?

This period may vary but, generally, the ceremony takes place a few weeks after you pass the test. The citizenship office will mail you a notice giving the time, date and place of the ceremony.

You must attend the ceremony and take the oath of citizenship to receive your citizenship certificate.
